Panit Yoo Phatthanaphithoon

It all started when...

Panit Yoo Phatthanaphithoon (who goes by Yoo), studied art when she was a child and through high school, but moved on to work in different fields. A few years ago, she saw an old school friend’s painting on Facebook. That painting sparked something in Yoo, and she bought some paints and gave it a try. What she thought would be an enjoyable afternoon was much more than that. She was overcome. It was a gateway to joyful calm. She knew watercolor would now have to be a regular part of her life.

And so it has been.

In addition to the meditative quality of the act of painting, Yoo appreciates watercolor’s loose and transparent character, and the ease with which she can paint in that medium. Her work is primarily still life painting, and she paints from both life and from photos. Yoo has shown her work in Thailand. This is her first virtual show and her first show in the US.
